Blade Runner

I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. [...] All those moments will be lost in time… like tears in rain… Time to die.

–Batty

Ridley Scott diente laut IMDB insbesondere der Comic Strip “The Long Tomorrow” von Moebius sowie Edward Hopper’s Gemälde “Nighthawks” als Inspirationsquelle und visuelle Referenz für die Blade Runner Optik.

The Traditionalist – Interview mit Christopher Nolan

christopher-nolan

A very organic approach to understanding all the different bits of the craft. I’m interested in every different bit of filmmaking because I had to do every bit of it myself—from sound recording and ADR to editing and music. [...] And it meant that absolutely everything I did was simply because I was passionate and wanted to try stuff. You’re never going to learn something as profoundly as when it’s purely out of curiosity.

–Christopher Nolan (im Interview mit der DGA)

Josh Bodnar

What really matters is the human behind the machine. The artist that can make his or her visions come to life. I’ve worked with a lot of great artists and I’ve seen some ridiculous work made out of a regular applications. Your biggest creative asset is yourself. The minute you rely on plug-ins your finished.

What Do I Learn At School That I Can’t Teach Myself?

What do I learn at school that I can’t teach myself?

–Rodrick Heffley (in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules)

Was lernen wir dort?

Storytelling Series: Daniel Milnor

Light to me is where everything begins and ends. Light is first for a reason especially with black and white, because it does so much to the form and the image. I want drama and I want direction. I want powerful light coming. And one thing that I learned long ago was to shoot into the light.

Freedom Is Blogging In Your Underwear

freedom-is-blogging-in-your-underwear

Frankly, it isn’t rocket science. By owning your own media (in this case, blogging), you own your own platform. Own your own platform, and you own your own career. Own your own career, and you own your own life. Own your own life, and that, my friends, is what freedom is all about.

–Hugh McLeod (in Freedom Is Blogging In Your Underwear)
